It's the BIG '4' '0' for the annual St. Louis Professional Development Workshop and you won't want to miss it! For 40 years, this workshop has provided a great opportunity to sharpen your professional skills and it just keeps getting better year after year. The program covers a wide variety of topics within the accounting, human resources, leadership, and communications disciplines. The workshop also provides an excellent opportunity to network with peers about issues on campus and trends in higher education.

The St. Louis Workshop's two-day format is structured to allow you to maximize your learning opportunities through a wide variety of sessions while minimizing time away from home and office. The workshop begins Wednesday mid-morning and ends Thursday mid-afternoon to allow for convenient travel options. The committee has been working hard for the last several months to bring you a wide variety of informative and relevant topics such as our traditional GASB and FASB updates, tax and current issues updates, technical sessions in accounting, benefits, and auditing, e-commerce issues and our always engaging leadership and communications sessions. While maintaining a core set of topics we always try to add new and innovative "hot topics". Current topics under consideration for the 2008 workshop include identity theft, Benchmarking for Bursars, Outcomes Assessment, PCI/DSS, Data Classification, Litigation and Bankruptcy Issues, and a Department of Education update. The workshop includes seven blocks of concurrent sessions in addition to dynamic opening and closing speakers. With such diverse choices, everyone should find sessions that meet their professional development needs.

The workshop will continue to be held at the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark. Newly remodeled and centrally located, this hotel is close to numerous attractions and activities you can look forward to experiencing while in town. The program has always been one of the best career development values available. For the eighth year in a row, the registration fee will be a very reasonable $295. In addition, if you were registered and didn't make the 2007 workshop due to the weather, don't forget you can use your credit for the 2008 workshop!
