Reflect, Refresh, Renew
JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa
Tucson, AZ
September 30, 2012 - October 2, 2012
CACUBO is celebrating its 100 Anniversary during 2012. Join in the celebration of this special occasion by attending the 2012 Annual Meeting in beautiful, warm and sunny Tucson, AZ. The 2012 Annual Meeting will be held at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa. The resort, which is located at the edge of the Tucson Mountain Park has amenities which include golfing, hiking and a luxurious spa.
But, don’t be fooled, the meeting program alone will be worth the visit to Tucson. The Program Committee has been hard at work putting together an informative, inspiring and entertaining set of speakers and topics. Our goal is to challenge attendees to better understand the dynamics of change in higher education and to prepare them with the tools they need to lead their institutions.
We intend to repeat a few of the more popular concurrent sessions from Omaha plus add select sessions to help us all understand best practices, apply new technical knowledge, and develop our leadership abilities. We intend a thoughtful and purposeful curriculum for leaders of major universities, small colleges and community colleges. No small task, but we are up to it!
We will have four or five general sessions with speakers of national note. We have booked Dr. William Pepicello, the President of the University of Phoenix. Dr. Pepicello, an excellent speaker, will help us all understand their approach to the business of higher education and with some 460,000 students, we all better be paying attention.
In addition, we have Captain Mark Kelly, Commander of the Space Shuttle Endeavor. Commander Kelly, an American hero in his own right, was thrust upon the national scene when his wife Representative Gabriel Giffords was the target of an assassination attempt in Tucson in January 2011. Their story is compelling and inspiring and one of hope for our country.
There will be more to come, but mark your calendars for a great program in Tucson, September 30-October 2, 2012.
